A compilation of personal experiences with individuals who dedicated their lives to sound.

The journey begins in the historical jazz and audio kissas (cafes) of Japan. From there it progresses to Terry Riley passing down Indian raga in Japan, sound artist Akio Suzuki’s 60 years beyond the mountain echo, and the half-century bond between 93 years old jazz pianist, Toshiko Akiyoshi, and her world’s craziest listener.

‘I am the first audience of my performance, so I play what I feel.’

(Toshiko Akiyoshi, 2023)

All episodes ended with a drawing. In the search of diverse intepretations, I asked everyone to draw or write ‘sound’ freely on a white square paper.
